Do any of the oil change places use recycled motor oil?

Hi,

Some may, but they should not. I would not recommend you go to one that does. If in doubt ask, and ask for detailed information if they are vague, or better still, go somewhere else. The quality of the oil is important, and depends on the long-chain molecules which can get converted to short chain in use. You can't convert them back again so far as I know.

Can u tell what causes oil to be coming out throw my dip stick lots if oil 454 about 1986

Hi Sabat,

If there is oil coming out through the dipstick hole, there is either too much oil in the crankcase, or much pressure in there. Too much pressure could happen if the vent to the crankcase gets blocked.

If so, find the vent, and make sure it is clean. If the oil level is correct, and the vent is not clogged, then you would need to get someone to look at it, and put a gauge on it.

Regards,

Hi Ben,

Grooves in journals are usually there to allow the oil to get right around the journal. It will be connected with lubrication for sure.
